12V system component: this is part of the Lightpro 12V low-voltage system and is designed to be used only with Lightpro fittings, transformers, cable and connectors. The Lightpro transformer plugs into a standard outdoor socket and steps mains power down to a safe 12 volts, so there’s no electrician needed and the cable doesn’t need to be buried.
Warranty – complete Lightpro system required: Lightpro’s 6-year manufacturer’s warranty only applies when this product is installed as part of a complete Lightpro 12V system, meaning Lightpro fittings, a Lightpro transformer, Lightpro cable and Lightpro connectors used together. Connecting it to another brand’s transformer, cable or connectors voids the warranty. It must be installed as the product manual describes, and proof of purchase is required.
The Lightpro remote system works by putting a receiver in line between the transformer and a group of lights. Each receiver is a separate channel on the handset, so adding one gives you another group that switches on its own: the path lights independent of the spots, or the far end of the garden separate from the terrace.
Up to nine receivers can be paired to a single handset, and each will switch up to 150 W of connected load. It runs on radio frequency with a range of around 40 metres in open ground, so there is no app, no Wi-Fi and no gateway involved. The unit is IP44 and sits outdoors on the cable run. This is the receiver only; the handset comes with the 166A kit.
