CORE PRO EDGE - Aluminium Flexible Edging

Our new Aluminium Edgings are an absolute masterpiece.

Manufactured from the highest quality, 100% recyclable tempered Aluminium, CORE PRO EDGE will be amongst the strongest and most durable aluminium edgings available on today’s market.

These edgings feature a unique, beautiful, highly scratch-resistant anodised surface – setting our product leagues above the rest.

Suitable for a Wide Range of Applications

CORE PRO EDGE is an extremely versatile product – across the 4 depths, you will be able to use this aluminium edging with almost any surface type. Across the range, each size is strong and flexible, able to create smooth curves as well as bold straight lines. It’s cost-effective and all made of the highest quality tempered alloy that will not rust. Each able to work between all hard/soft surfacing, yet each have their areas of expertise.

How to Create Curves

Curves can be easily created by using a pair of pliers to snap out the tabs along a length of PRO EDGE. We designed it with versatility in mind to create the perfect ‘2 in 1’ product – if you need a strong straight line, leave the tabs in – when your project requires curves, snap them out where you need to, giving you the flexibility to combine truly straight lines with perfect curves,  all from one edging.if you need a strong straight line, leave the tabs in – when your project requires curves, snap them out to make gently curving the edging to shape much easier

WILL WEEDS GROW THROUGH THE GRAVEL

No.

The geotextile membrane material that is heat welded to the bottom of CORE Path prevents weed growth from underneath the grid…

You may however experience a few air born weeds that are caused by birds dropping seeds or natural pollination; these can be easily removed due to the fact they are restricted to rooting in a single cell full of loose gravel.

IS IT SUITABLE FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS?

With regard to local government approval of our system there is no such document or set standard in the UK with reference to disabled access, which is why we refer to the American version in our literature where we have obtained U.S. approval.

In the UK Governments approved document, part M “access to and use of buildings” it states that the surface of an approach available to a wheelchair user should be firm enough to support the weight of the user and his or her wheelchair and smooth enough to permit easy maneuver. It should also take account of the needs of stick and crutch users.

Loose laid materials such as gravel and shingle are considered unsuitable for the approach. However we have proven through video footage and case study that loose aggregate laid in a CORE Path stabiliser is sufficiently stable to allow safe passage for all of the above named users.

IS IT SUDS COMPLIANT

WHAT TYPE OF GRAVEL SHOULD I USE

For best results we recommend using an angular aggregate up to 10mm in size as this helps the surface dressing to stay in place.

Your finished CORE Path will consist of hundreds if not thousands of small cells full of loose aggregate. This unique design prevents the aggregate from shifting or over compacting, allowing the surface dressing of aggregate used to cover the cells and bite into the loose aggregate contained in the cellular structure providing a surface that is completely firm under foot and non-slip.

ARE CORE PATH INSTALLATIONS EASY TO MAINTAIN

Yes

While you do not have the rutting and aggregate migration of traditional gravel installations, you still need to occasionally rake the gravel. If you can see the CORE Path structure, you should rake the gravel to completely cover the honeycomb, thus preventing damage.

IS CORE PATH ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

Yes!

CORE Path provides a porous paving solutions which returns water back to the environment where it belongs instead of pooling or causing the flooding problems of traditional surfaces. In addition CORE Path is made from  100% recycled black PP  which is both UV and heat resistant

DOES CORE PATH NEED AN EDGING

No!

An edging is not essential, but plant life bordering your pathway will grow into the edges of the gravel if there is no physical restraint.

If you prefer a clean line to your path CORE Edge is the perfect low maintenance choice available in 5 colours: black, grey, brown, green or galvanised.

IS CORE PATH EASY TO CUT TO SHAPE

Yes!

CORE Path is easily cut to shape using heavy scissors or secateurs to cut the grid and a Stanley knife to cut through the geotextile membrane on the back.

DO I NEED TO INSTALL A SUB BASE

No!

If the ground you are preparing is already firm underfoot you can simply blind it over with 10 / 15mm of sharp sand to iron out any minor deformities in the surface, if the ground is soft or prone to becoming soft in the wetter months a suitable stone sub base should be installed to make the ground firm.
