CORE FasTrack 609A.

Woven polypropylene separation and reinforcement geotextile

View technical specification
A black woven geotextile roll representing CORE FasTrack 609A.

Woven strength beneath the surface.

A low-elongation woven polypropylene geotextile for projects where separation and tensile contribution are more important than the high hydraulic flow associated with nonwoven grades.

The principal woven grade in this CORE selection for haul roads, hardstandings, paved roads and basal separation or reinforcement applications.

  • Separation between subgrade and aggregate
  • Tensile contribution in suitable reinforcement applications
  • Lower elongation than the nonwoven grades in this range
  • Full and mini-roll options for varied project scales

MD means machine direction, along the roll. CMD means cross-machine direction, across the roll. Values describe the material; they are not a vehicle load rating.

Where it works.

  • Compounds and temporary haul roads
  • Paved roads and hardstandings
  • Basal separation and reinforcement
  • Car parks and granular construction layers

Choosing for your project.

  • For critical hydraulic filtration, soakaway or permeable-paving duties, compare the opening size and permeability with a suitable nonwoven grade.
  • The correct reinforcement product and design method remain project-specific.

Installation guidance.

Prepare the ground, maintain continuity and protect the material during construction. Follow the approved project detail for overlaps, cover and compaction.

Open the geosynthetics guide
  1. Prepare the groundRemove sharp obstructions and level deep ruts or voids so the fabric is supported.
  2. Lay and overlapRoll out to follow the ground contours without bridging hollows. Maintain the overlaps required by the project detail.
  3. Place the coverSpread the specified fill from the edge or an already covered area. Keep vehicles off exposed fabric.
  4. Inspect and protectCheck continuity and repair damage before covering. Cover promptly and follow the installation guide for the required cover and compaction.

Product questions.

Why choose a woven geotextile?

Woven products generally provide lower elongation and a stronger tensile response for suitable separation and reinforcement applications. Nonwoven grades are usually the first comparison where filtration, drainage or protection is critical.

Can FasTrack 609A be used beneath a haul road?

Haul roads are a typical application for this woven family, but the overall build-up, aggregate, formation, traffic and reinforcement requirement must still be reviewed.

Is nominal roll area the installed coverage?

No. Allow for overlaps, cuts and the shape of the area. The roll table gives the full roll area before those allowances.
