PROJECT BRIEF:

PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PARKING TO SHARED OFFICE FACILITY 

Matrix Parking Solutions were contracted by the landlord Corporate Estates to provide additional parking at a share office facility in Henley-on-Thames. The proposed area was adjacent to the access road leading to the main car park. The client required an additional 27 spaces without spoiling the view.

PRACTICAL SOLUTION:

LAY CORE GRASS 40-60 GRID THEN FILL WITH TOPSOIL

The area was excavated, and a new curb line was formed at the back of the parking area. A clean stone subbase was laid and then compacted. The new subbase was covered in a 30mm dressing of graded soil. CORE grass 60-40 grid was laid and filled with graded topsoil, then lightly compacted with a small vibrating plate to aid settlement. A soil mix surface dressing was applied to the grids and seeded. Luminous parking markers were inserted into the grid to delineate parking spaces to local authority approval.

Using a grass stabilisation grid enabled us to create a parking area with little to no visual impact as the grass seed had germinated. The weight load is distributed evenly by the grid and the usual surface wear associated with parking on grass areas is eliminated. The porous surface allows water to flow through avoiding surface water build up, maintain a clean surface for pedestrians.
